Do you have a crack above your two car garage column? Many times the column between a 2 or 3 car garage can settle under the concentrated weight load it carries. Some of the signs of foundation settlement are:
- Horizontal cracks at the top of the garage column
- Stairstep cracks that start at the top of the garage column, with wider cracks at the bottom and smaller cracks as it moves up.
- Cracking in the garage floor on one or more corners, especially near the doors.
- Sheetrock cracking above the garage doors or on the column (can be seen from inside the garage)
- Water pooling around the garage column from either rain or vehicle runoff.
If you have any of these signs you may have a garage column that has settled. If you think you have a problem (as in the picture or signs above) give our office a call or fill out the contact us form on the right side of the page and one of our staff will come out to evaluate the issue.
