Listed below are Atlanta’s top foundation repair companies. The list is not exhaustive but only meant to give a good overview of the contractors who do foundation repair and waterproofing.
Foundation Worx – Foundation Worx performs foundation repair and waterproofing (focus on exterior waterproofing). A BIG difference is the owner is a graduate of Georgia Tech and the focus is on custom solutions for each situation. Foundation Worx is not a franchise. In foundation repair, the focus is on providing the most value (bang for the buck) more than selling a system. On waterproofing, the focus is on where the water is coming from and trying to keep it out, more than selling a system to get rid of the water once it comes in. Heavy on the foundation side of things, we look at the symptoms (home settlement, wet basement, etc) and try to find the problem (bad soils, poor drainage, etc) before proposing a solution.
Aquaguard – Aquaguard is the largest Basement Systems Franchise in the area (maybe the country). It was started by a business man who has done a very good job of marketing this process and doing the work. They have set systems they install from interior drains, piers, crawlspace repairs and polyurethane. The upside is you are getting a system that has been proven, the downside is you are buying a standard system that has to fit in each custom home.
Engineered Solutions of Georgia – ESOG has it’s roots in a family owned waterproofing business as well as Aquaguard. This company has blosomed over time and does a large amount of commercial and residential work. In residential they focus on interior drains, crawlspace repairs and foundation repair. They have engineers on staff which can make them a one stop shop (that where the “Engineered” portion of the name comes from).
Trotter Company – Trotter is the oldest waterproofing contractor in the city. It’s been owned by several generations of Trotters. Each one changing the systems to make it better or try new things. They take interior drains seriously and work hard to make new things and better things. They do foundation repair as well.
Atlas Piers of Atlanta – Atlas (named for the original manufacturer of the Atlas Pier) concentrates on foundation repair only. They do a lot of commercial work but have been in the residential space for quite some time. They have good people and install good products.
These are the largest and/or the oldest companies in Atlanta that do foundation repair and/or basement waterproofing. There are lots of other choices out there includes franchises like EverDry and BDry on the water side and RamJack on the piering side.
It’s best to look through Google, Yelp and Angie’s List to see reviews from past customers. Note: No comapny is perfect. We all make mistakes or have things go wrong. Look through all the reviews and when there is a bad one (less than 3 stars) check out how the company handled it. For it’s not being perfect that matters (no one is), it’s how the company responds when things go wrong.
